When one produces an album one chooses a specific path, a sound, a bubble. Yet the songs that get captured also have a life of their own, outside of the dedicated mood of the album.
I am delighted that some bits of Banane Bleue visited the visions and skills of some musician friends. And so today I share with you some side iteration of :
- Coucou, an infectious remix by RICKY HOLLYWOOD. We used some voices messages to give that “lost communication “ feel that is all over Banane Bleue.
-Revu - Remix by Egyptian experimental dance music producer 200 SHAMS merges the pop pace of the orignal singing to the heat and intensity of Cairo streets.
- Dahaab (Golden Lips) adapted and sung in Arabic by the mysterious and utterly gorgeous MONA GAMIL , with sound production by Moroccan based breton ambiant magician AJA.
- Revu Emotional Friend Remix by PETIT FANTÔME brings the song back to its bare bones and somehow reminds me of being in pub in Bristol (don’t ask me why).
-Coucou remixed and vibed over by an intriging teenager from Cameroon called OZYRIS . I discovered his felt tip drawings and to his diy tunes online. Despite the weirdness of his made-up singing, I was hooked by the sensuality and audacity of his creativity.

For those who who will purchase and listened to the physical object ( a blue recycled plastic cassette !) you will be treated to an exclusive bunch of COVERS I recorded at home. These songs have a resonance with the period we are going through.
- I need a new Heart - Magnetic Fields for the need to reboot oneself
- Vue d’en Face - Yelle because it’s about being locked in your own space but looking a everyone else’s life
- Tout Sera Comme Avant - Dominique A. 2005-2020 . Half of it was sung in Bristol 15 years ago. When I rediscovered this recording last year on an old cassette I decided to collaborate with my former self. So it is duo with a younger me. The song says “Everything will remain how it used to be”
- Nearly Ready - Crescent. An underground Bristol cult band who I was very lucky to play with16 years ago. That song felt truly appropriate to the reclusive feeling of last year, and the consequent hope that burst out from dark grounds.
-Les Paradis Perdus - Christophe . A simple homage to a great french singer.
